A Mississippi grand jury has declined to indict a police officer who responded to a call, and shot and wounded an unarmed 11-year-old boy inside the home. The grand jury found that Indianola Police Sgt. Greg Capers did not engage in criminal conduct when he shot Aderrien Murry in the chest on May 20 while responding to a domestic dispute. Murry was hospitalized for five days with a collapsed lung, lacerated liver and fractured ribs from the gunshot wound in his chest.

Welltok Inc. , a company Corewell contracts for patient communication, was hacked in May , with information on patient names, email addresses, phone numbers, diagnoses, health insurance, and Social Security numbers possibly affected. There have been no reported cases of fraud so far related to the breach, according to Welltok officials.

The decision Wednesday by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service follows more than two decades of disputes over the risks of climate change, and threats to the long-term survival of the elusive species. Officials wrote in the proposal that protections under the Endangered Species Act were needed “due primarily to the ongoing and increasing impacts of climate change and associated habitat degradation and fragmentation.”

So much so that he decided to buy 15 acres of woodland adjacent to Mount Kenya National Park & Reserve, in the small market town of Naro Moru, a base for hikers ascending Mount Kenya. More than 30 years later, in the valley beneath the majestic snow-capped volcano, Mr. Ooko’s home is one of the few plots still flourishing with indigenous trees and plants. In contrast, much of the national park has been heavily logged.
