From a pedestrian’s perspective, it’s important to recognize that the lack of organization and advocacy for pedestrian safety is a significant issue. Pedestrians often don’t identify themselves as such and therefore struggle to unite and voice their concerns effectively. Unlike motorists or consumer groups, pedestrians don’t have a strong collective voice to advocate for their safety.
Furthermore, many oppose initiatives aimed at improving pedestrian safety, such as the installation of sidewalks or reducing travel speeds.
However, it’s crucial to consider that pedestrian safety affects everyone, and it’s essential to foster a sense of community and collective responsibility for creating safer walking environments. By coming together and advocating for pedestrian safety, we can address these issues and create positive change.
