Good morning, everyone. I’m with PACE TULSA, A Pedestrian Awareness Crosswalk Education foundation and I’m here today to discuss a critical issue facing our community: Pedestrian Safety.
As we all know, pedestrian accidents are a serious problem in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2023, nine pedestrian-related traffic incidents resulting in fatalities occurred in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In 2021, 13% of traffic fatalities in Oklahoma were pedestrians, which was lower than the national average of 17 percent. However, the need for Advanced Data Analytics still exists.
These tragic events not only impact individuals and families, but also reflect broader issues within our transportation system.
On November 4th 2024, 10:29 pm A Man was Struck and Killed in a Hit and Run by a Metro Link City of Tulsa Bus Operator Near 3rd And Denver.
Statistical Comparative
While this incident serves as a stark reminder of traffic safety concerns in Tulsa, it also highlights the limitations of reactive approaches to public safety. Without advanced data analytics, it’s difficult to:
