Safety response teams responding on time; communicating with other essential departments; proactively taking corrective actions; and working in the best interest of public transportation policy all play a part in modern infrastructure projects and public safety.
Operationally, bipartisan infrastructure laws required public input and pedestrian-driver engagement as part of local, state, and national highway and public roadway safety programs.
Transportation safety boards, roadway designs, civil engineering contractors, civil authority contractors, traffic control companies, city managers, and other public policy decision-makers efficiently coordinate integral functions of public transportation safety organizations.

II. Older adults are not worse drivers because now they’re older they’re less susceptible to creating accidents and causing vehicle fatalities while driving. Statistically, it’s just an old wives tale that an older person is a worse driver now that they’re older. Statistically, that makes absolutely no sense at all.
There’s little difference in the importance of functional change as people age. There were differences in the level of satisfaction with using various transportation modes by the degree of functional change in Older Adults.
A. These changes indicate the need for more funding to support countermeasures leading to decreased dependence on structural implementation of Older Adult.Driver Improvement Programs.
*Adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s were involved in pedestrian accidents in significantly lower numbers.
*Adults 50-59 comprised roughly the same percentage of deaths during the same period of research .
*Adults 65 and older makeup 20% of pedestrian accident fatalities.
*Adults in their 70s and 80s were also involved in collisions more frequently than adults under 50.
Although older adults reported more sensitivity as they age the number of miles traveled significantly decreased which also decreased the opportunity for older adults to become involved in pedestrian-vehicle accidents and fatalities.
B. Cognitive and physical functional changes among the seven functions observed in Older adults for which there was a difference are listed below:
*Visual: The high change group was less satisfied with buses, trains, automobiles, and bicycles. Because visual changes
*Comprehension: The high change group was less satisfied with bicycles.
*Decision-Making: The high change group was less satisfied with buses.
*Execution: The high change group was less satisfied with buses.
*Workload: The high change group was less satisfied with buses, trains, and automobiles.
*Motion Control: The high change group was more satisfied with trains.
*Execution and workload sensitivity means Older Adults are less satisfied to use buses.
Although, no evaluative measure existed to verify respondents reported changes to cognitive and physical abilities both visual function and decision-making.
These suggested function changes affect Older pedestrian-driver bus use and thus attitudes about public transportation. Older adult pedestrian-drivers in most cases when surveyed, imply public transportation safety function as a part of a law enforcement operation.
If the elders in our nations Older pedestrian-driver communities maintain negative perceptions and bad attitudes towards the public transportation policy advocacy communities, Older pedestrian-drivers will not advocate or support expanded funding organized travel projects or critically under finance public transportation safety organizations like PACE TULSA.
III. American Indian or Alaska Native groups were impacted the most in traffic-related accidents.
A. American Indian(s) or Alaskan Indian ethnic groups reported 599 Traffic Fatalities or Injuries out of 2,420,241 people. NHTSA found that 24.8 fatalities per population of 100k or more American Indian or Alaska Native people occurred.
*Roughly 70% of pedestrians killed in accidents were American Indian males.
*The overall American Indian male pedestrian fatality rate per 100,000 population was found to be double the rate for female pedestrian fatality during the same period.
*The single category most at risk for fatality by age and gender is American Indian male pedestrians 80 years and older.
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, during. the month of July 2022. The Indian Nation Councils of Government (INCOG) took a first-step approach to “relationship building” when they decided to purchase rides for every single rider in the Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority (MTTA).
The public transit authority system for a one-whole month (for 30 days) allowed every single person to board ticketless and ride for free to explore the benefits of public transportation. Also, it was a great first step for American Indian communities to explore why the Native American and Alaskan Indian tribes are” the most impacted by pedestrian driver fatalities” throughout the nation.
IV. Intoxicated pedestrians with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of grams per deciliter (g/dL) or higher were the victims of about 32% of all fatal pedestrian accidents.
A. Alcohol intoxication can affect a person’s judgment. A disturbance in behavior or mental function occurs during or after alcohol consumption.
*Of all reported fatal pedestrian accidents during the period of study, nearly half involved alcohol—on the part of the driver, the pedestrian, or both.
B. Pedestrians Impaired by Drugs or Alcohol toxicity can occur as a result of the over-ingestion of medication, causing too much of the drug to be in a person’s system at once.
*Pedestrians drunk or under the influence of drugs are at higher risk of fatality than those who are sober.
Corrective actions as a part of strategic planning are a sign of progress; and trust-building.We can’t just blame the “Crosswalk Intersection Accident Victim,” for the entire public safety crisis.
Travel planning, infrastructure design, and environmental factors impacting driver-pedestrian behavior are all formulated as process implementation. Operationally bipartisan engagement requires gathering local and regional coordinators, making input for programs, and shared responsibilities.
